The initiative

Ending Neglected Surgical Diseases™ by 2035.

The world's most solvable health crisis: six conditions, each curable in a single short operation, left untreated for hundreds of millions of people.

What are NSDs?

Surgical conditions with a massive public-health burden — and a known, low-cost cure.

Neglected Surgical Diseases™ cause profound isolation, social stigma, enormous suffering, and massive loss of economic output. They are not treated in most primary-care settings, and they fall through every gap in global health funding. Children and women are the worst affected. Yet safe, cost-effective interventions could avert an estimated 17 million deaths and 77 million disability-adjusted life-years annually.

The proof of concept

Tested on two continents. It works.

With the Finders Keepers mobile platform, community health workers go door to door, identify untreated surgical disease, and connect each patient to care — turning an invisible backlog into a named, mapped, treatable caseload.
